Mountain Reader II History

Mountain Reader II is the successor to Mountain QWK.

Beta Version 2.a - Added support for Bluewave message format
May 3, 1994 - Developed internal expansion for future message formats
- Switch to disk based access to eliminate capacity limits
- New Menus and Interface routines
- Improved Menu Bar and GEM handling
- Increased use of assembly routines
- Exclude unneeded files from packet decompression
- Switched to internal message sorting
- Now obsolete, message 'Threading' was eliminated
- Consolidated Path and Preference settings into one menu
- Add user to lockout list by pressing 'U' key when reading
- Expanded interface configuration options
- Expanded reading method options
Beta Version 2.b - Added Reply Editor Menu
May 13, 1994 - Added and enhanced internal text editor
- Added QWK .REP packet creation
- Reduced Bluewave processing to 1/3 of original speed
Beta Version 2.c - Added Message Quoting Menu
May 17, 1994 - Exit to main menu at end of messages
- Redesigned program information screen
Beta Version 2.d - Fixed random bombing when saving messages
May 20, 1994 - Fixed truncation problem with replies
- Reworked reply code to eliminate random bugs
